This move was exceeded my expectations. The movers who packed and loaded my moms huge housefull were the same guys in Florida who offloaded. They were great and not a thing was damaged. I will recommend this team.
We had a different moving Company that canceled our local move as their truck broke down and they weren't sure if they could make it to our place. I called my cousin and he recommended this company that helped him with a move with a very short notice. I did call them and they did schedule the move for the next day. I guess everything that happens - happens from a reason because this company's crew was fantastic. They were very polite and respectful. I'm thankful for the work they've done for me and my family. I thought they may charge me more than expected because it was a last minute move and I didn't have a chance to get everything in writing. The crew came in a large moving truck and at first I was nervous because there were only 2 movers but they gave it their best college effort and did the move faster than my last company said it would take 3 men. I will recommend Monster Moving in the future because of their great crew and they are honest. Thanks, Ron
This moving experience was a complete
nightmare! Local move, 1st floor, 1 bedroom apartment. I had already moved ALL of my clothing and electronics on my own. Most of my stuff was going in storage (provided by them). To begin with, they showed up a day later than I booked, which wasted a whole day for me. Offered $50 off and a third guy for the next day, which would have worked out except all 3 guys that showed up the next day (no uniforms, all very young, in an Enterprise truck) kept disappearing into the truck (the back, the cab) for smoke breaks, personal phone calls, one had a friend actually swing by. All 3 guys complained the whole time about the heat (it was 72). It took 3 guys 4 hours to load the very little stuff I had. My 65 year old mother and I could have done it faster. They stopped for lunch on my time (during which I had time to go to the new place, shower, have lunch..)
All in all I was charged for 9 hours with 3 guys (quoted 4 hours with 2 guys). I was also charged 4x what i was quoted for the storage unit. I was not allowed to follow the guys back to the storage facility to oversee my things being put away, and had no choice in which or what size unit they put me into.. They forced me into a 10x15 unit (huge!!). Again, I was coming from a small (700sq) 1 bedroom apt, 2 weeks later I moved my things to a 5x15 unit with shorter ceilings and I have room to spare.
When I called to complain about the service I received, I got 2 sentences in before the OWNER himself started swearing and screaming at me. Among the obscenities that were said to me: "If you want to be f***ing sarcastic, I can be f***ing sarcastic!" - this was the response when I expressed surprise over the size of the unit they made me get, again, the OWNER. He also told me that he had "taken a few psychology courses and knew I was obviously upsetl over something besides the move", when I told him I would be removing my things he tried to apologize by telling me I was "too emotional and should have waited to call until I was rational about the situation" (please understand I didn't get emotional until I was screamed at and swore at by someone who had possession of most of my belongings, and even then it was just me bursting into tears). He also admitted at this point that he knew that I would have fit in a smaller storage unit.
As I said, 2 weeks later I removed my items to a different storage unit eating the cost of yet another rental truck and more storage fees. When I arrived to collect my items from my storage unit with this company, not only did my belongings only fill 1/3 of the unit they made me use, but they had someone else's things in my unit!! There was a grill, several mattresses, a couple bureaus, bookcases all of which did not belong to me!!!! This means someone else had access to my things, as well as I had access to theirs. This whole experience has been a complete nightmare, reducing me to tears several times.
Additionally, this company claims to have an A rating with the BBB on their website, but not only is that not true, they aren't even accredited anymore! See the link!

DO NOT USE!!!
Worst Movers Ever. I'd give them negative stars if it was an option!!! Do not use to move long distance!! Showed up in a Budget rent a truck, arrived at new house three days late, when we called to see when they were going to deliver we were told there was a problem with the truck that needed to be fixed before they left. A phone call would have been nice. They picked up two locals to help the driver unload, even though they claim all the workers are Monster employees. When they opened the truck we could tell it had been unloaded and then reloaded by someone who had no idea how to pack a truck. Many items damaged, everything was filthy, footprints on our furniture, broken and missing items. We paid extra for insurance and they are trying to buy us off for $200.00. Very unprofessional company. We will be filing a suit against them.
Good Choice for Movers in Boston.
I've moved so many times, it's crazy. Back in March of 2012, I had to move very very quickly; I was getting out of a terrible relationship and basically needed to pack in a day, and schedule a move asap.
Cue Monster Movers, coming in to save the day.
I called on a Monday for a consult. I explained the whole situation, which was rather sensitive, and the office receptionist said "I know just who to send to help you. He's dealt with this sort of situation before and will be able to help you out." They came on Tuesday, gave me a quote of around $1K for a move on Friday, and were super flexible with the idea that, since the move was so fast, I might have to put things in storage for a while or I might have an apartment lined up.
I managed to find an apartment, and rescheduled the move for the following Monday when it would be ready. No problem on Monster Movers's end.
On moving day, my ex wasn't supposed to be around. Of course, he showed up, and lo and behold; the movers (and the company must have sent the three largest guys they had) must have been made aware of the situation, and kept engaging me in order to keep me busy and thus keep my ex from talking to me. They got my belongings packed into the truck - including a baby grand piano - in a little under 2 hours. When we arrived at my new place, one of them actually asked "Okay, so... do we need to kick the guy's ass, or what?" Some people wouldn't have appreciated the comment, but at that point, it made me laugh and put me at ease and they definately meant it to be funny - not serious. I appreciated that the company took so much time to make everyone aware of the situation, and that the movers were trying so hard to put me at ease in what was a pretty crappy situation.
Monster Movers Review - Raytheon Employee.
Somewhat recently I relocated as part of a work rotational assignment( DC-Area to Boston). Moving does suck, but when you don't have to pack, transport, unpack, or pay - it's even better!
After having my entire apartment packed by professionals, I think I'm going to find it hard for me to ever do it myself. I really did pack nothing. I had stuff all over the place - on my desk, coffee table, side tables, floor, etc. I only packed away some clothes and other necessities that would last me until the end of the promised delivery time frame - about two weeks.
The movers actually wouldn't let me pack anything they were transporting because they are liable for any damage. Anything they took apart, they reassembled upon delivery. I was a bit skeptical, but everything worked out just fine.
In addition to covering the moving expenses, my employer also paid for supplemental insurance of $10 / pound, which I understand is quite generous (normal coverage is $0.60 / pound). I almost wish my stuff did get lost ... shhh. Also, the movers worked with a third-party carpenter to build a wooden crate for my LCD TV. They attached accelerometers on the crate to make sure the it was handled properly. I think this might have been a supplemental service actually.
To give a little perspective on time, the movers (two guys) came on a Monday morning and packed up my 600ft^2 apartment (IIRC, they estimated about 2000lb, or maybe I'm way off) in about three and a half hours - from answering my door to them driving off with my life. I got a call the next day telling me that they were coming to deliver my stuff on Wednesday morning. All things considered, that is a pretty quick turnaround.
While I cannot speak for private service, they were efficient, fast, and friendly for work relocation. I suppose they do have a major incentive to do well however, as I understand my employer is one of their top clients. Nonetheless, it was a positive experience despite all the horror stories I've heard about movers.
Worst Moving Experience of My Life. We scheduled a 1 O'clock move on a Friday December 9th, 2011. My wife called at 1:30 to inquire when the movers would be their. The representive told us they were on a job and would be there in a few minutes no, they didn't show till 2:15. When they showed up It just got worse from there on in. The main moving guy was yelling and swearing how he can't get up the hill and he shouldnt have to be here on Friday doing a job at one o'clock in the afternoon. Supposedly this company only has two trucks and the other one was on it's way to Florida with the owner of the Company. The guys tells us that we had to get another mover and he would have to charge us another 30 dollars an hour. Felt right there that we were getting scammed, our lease was up and had to be out that night so we had to suck it up. The company took forever to move, and yet they did not move everything in our house. My wife and I had to travel back to the city three times to get everything out of our house. I should have looked more indepth at this company and would have seen a pretty bad pattern of service. The two moving guys were pretty good but the driver was a complete ass, he was swearing and very unprofessional. The funniest thing was that he was telling me if he got a ticket he would have to put that on us, yeagh you might want to know the law first buddy. These guys got an F- hard. My wife and I are about to begin liability claims as well on this company due to them damaging our bed, artwork, boys bed, and dinning room table. Plus we just submitted a complaint to the BBB. 900 dollar moved cost 400 plus in damages. Worst company ever.
Just Used Them for a local move from Shrewsbury to Boston. The muscle men who came to move me were awesome. They came uniformed in polos with their muscles out to ))))) here! And who doesn't want their movers to show up in polo shirts - even if it is 45 degrees out! I was so impressed with my monster movers - they did my whole move in 5 hours so the total was around $600. The girl that booked my move was Sarah and she said it was going to be about $756 so I was pretty happy that it was less. I tipped the movers $20 each and was still under budget. The Monster Movers I used were from Boston - Charlestown so I hope this is the same company. I didn't see Monster Movers in Boston as an option.
They moved my antique furniture without a scratch. Let me start by telling you that I have a housefull of antiques that I moved to Michigan years ago. The last movers I used were part of a larger company called Atlas. They put two scratches in a mans wardrobe that I had to pay a furniture repair person to fix. I also had to fix a curved glass peice from my china cabinet. That being said, I was extremely nervous to do the move back to Worcester expecially at my age (71). Anyhow, we hired the Monster Movers mainly because they provided us with references from local companies in Worcester and Ann Arbor with whom they moved antiques and artwork for. They came weeks before the actual move and measured the peices to build crates for the artwork. It was a little pricey but I guess the rates have gotten higher than they were twenty years ago. The move went well. We paid extra for a door to door moving service that guaranteed our furniture in Massachusetts within 2 days. Both trucks arrived together and on time. At the offload they sent 3 more fellows who were helpful and made things go a lot faster. They did not charge us for the extra three men because it was included in the line haul amount that we agreed to in Michigan. There was not a single scratch or bump or rub on anything. Well, our sofa had a bit of dust from the truck because the saran wrap rubbed off while it was in transit but it was an easy cleanup.
**BEWARE** OF THE MONSTERS OF MOVERS!!!!!. Hmm where do I begin...as an ex employer for this CROOKED company MONSTER MOVERS.I have witnessed the following things, !!!COSTUMERS BEWARE!!! When I first began I told him I had no licence and only wanted to work as a mover helper Bill quickly munipulated me into driving his trucks. To date none of his driver's have ANY CDL OR LICENCE'S PERIOD! I started noticing how Bill's company wasn't run legit, his paper work is non existent and claimed his computer was wiped out so he just wings it, also had me and other employers working up to 90 hours a week barley able to see my family. And had issues every week with my checks as far as him not paying me fully and or not at all, making make me wait days after pay day for my money. Also made us late to customers homes frequently due to his lack of attention to his company sent us out with no directions and often wrong direction to totally different cities! I also noticed he was storing cabinets for a Worcester Housing company in the same units as paying customers! And seen customers come in wondering where the belongings went. Also witnessed him treat his costumers with no respect screaming at them and down right ignorant.Telling his customers he has a renters licence BEWARE "HE DOES NOT"! Also BEWARE of HIDDEN FEE'S Bill loves to charge for tape shrink wrap, and anything else that will add on to you'r bill that you were not aware of when signing of the bill . Also gets seriously Irate when his employers don't try getting away with customers not using travel time coupons. If the customer use the coupon then Bill gets mad and threatens employers jobs! I am a profesional mover have worked as a mover for 17 years and **BEWARE** Bill hires people to move his customers furniture that have NO experince in the moving buisness also hiring people who are thieves and steal people property ! And when Bill is told that these people are thieves and steal he keeps them working for him anyways ! So as you can see Monster mover are truely MONSTERS! after working for Bill I have seen it all! Im writing this review to bring attention to potential customers DO YOUR RESEARCH! STAY AWAY FROM "THE MONSTERS OF MOVERS!"
