Awful!. Awful experience. We have seen this restaurant on Phantom Gourmet and decided it was worth a try, we were going to visit the one in Quincy but based on reviews decided to try Framingham.

At first glance, i was utterly disappointed, it was small and in a shopping plaza. We had traveled about a half hour to get there so decided we best try it.

The condiment bar looked just plain nasty. Things were dried out, so you know they had to of been there for a long period of time. The appetizer was just plain bland. We got the home made potato chips, onion strings and fried pickles.

For our meals, my boyfriend got the ribs with two sides, fries and baked beans. Come on now we live in New England how can you make bad baked beans? They were dry and just not appealing. I got the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and mac & cheese. The pulled pork was dry, not tasty, and cold. The bun was from the Stop & shop next door, I kid you not. The mac and cheese! Well considering i LOVE anything pasta and cheese i thought, how could this be bad?! It was brown in color and gritty. I thought BBQ and down south mac & cheese was supposed to be amazing. This was NOT. Oh, and I've had better coleslaw at KFC.

The gentleman who seated us is the guy who appears on Phantom Gourmet, nice guy. Our waitress was not at all the greatest. We went at about 5pm on a Tuesday. There was NO wait and about 10 people there. We had to wait for our drinks for about 10 minuets each time we ordered one. The waitress was rushing us, probably asked us about 8 times if we wanted to order our meals. I understand that if it was peak times you try to get people in and out, this was not the case at all!

The only good thing i can say is the drinks were pretty good.

Yummy beef ribs. Fireflys is a great BBQ place - i highly recommend beef ribs for one of the few restaurants that serves them. The best part is the variety of sauces you can try and find your favorite. My favorite is North Carolina - tangy and salty. But I know a lot of people like sweet and smoky and for them - try Texas. If you're in the area, definitely grab a bite here - the mac & cheese is a great side. I felt compelled to write a review since i saw some negative ones there and this is definitely one of my faves. I can't comment on the pulled pork because i generally don't eat it. But it's better than Tennessee's for brisket and ribs.

Try something else.... You might as well go to Fridays for ribs. The pulled pork is masked in a ton of sauce, you can't even tell you are eating pork let alone taste any smoke. Brisket is the only draw.

Average at best. I tried the Marlborough location a few years ago and had a rather bland meal. I thought I would give them another chance and this time dined at the Framingham location. I ordered the brisket and was dissapointed once again. The brisket was fatty and tough. It lacked the flavor and zing that brisket should.

The next time I have the urge for good BBQ , I'm heading to Redbones in Somerville.

Affordable menu of barbecue and Southern fare draws family-heavy crowds this suburban strip mall outpost.. The Scene
With its standing-room only crowds of noisy families and young couples filling the colorful dining areas and welcoming bar, a weekend visit to Firefly's is not for the faint of heart. Those looking for a more relaxed environment in which to enjoy the restaurant's award-winning barbecue stop by on much calmer weeknights, or take their food to go. Overwhelmed servers try their best to keep the clamorous masses content.

The Food
Despite its frenetic environment and sprawling menu, Firefly's pays close attention to quality control; numerous displays of awards its meats and sauces have won greet visitors upon entering. Tender ribs (try the lean St. Louis variety) and moist chicken benefit from preparation over fresh hickory, cherry, and apple woods. Unusual starters and sides include crunchy fried pickles, creamy sweet potato pudding and tangy cucumber salad. Sweet tooths leave room for huge, sinful slices of red velvet and Coca-Cola cakes.

Much to my surprise!. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much when I walked in from the parking lot. Sitting right next to a huge Stop N Shop is not usually where you will find the best food places, but this is the exception. The atmosphere is clean, lively, and friendly. A great bar area is also a highlight. But the real test was the food, and it was great too! You could tell the chicken wings we had were freshly prepared on a grill, and the homemade potato chips were excellent. The beef brisket sandwich was excellent as well. The manager even came over during our meal to make sure everything was ok. I was highly impressed in every aspect of Fireflys.

Overall, I would recommend this place over any BBQ place in the western suburbs. I'll be bringing friends there for drinks/eats in the near future.
