Il Forno Italian Restaurant ASHLAND, MA.
It's their GRAND OPENING in Ashland, MA. The pizza was just terrible, very small ... the antipasto was limp and lack flavor...SO DISAPPOINTED. Will never go back. The service was awful, too.

No longer good eats.
I was charged $19.11 for 9 pieces of butternut squash ravioli (no sauce); a small salad (all lettuce except for 1 small cherry tomato and 1 slice of cucumber); and bread that didn't taste fresh.
I've had this meal before, in Worcester. The plate was overflowing with ravioli, the salad was nice, and the bread was good. Westborough used to equal Worcester, but now . . . $19.11 for nothing more than a side dish. (And the taste . . . not even close to the Worcester location.)
I had been warned by two other Il Forno regulars that the meals were no longer good and the prices outrageous. Based on six years of prior dining, I ordered my take-out anyway. I wish I had listened. My advice . . . Don't waste your money. (I know I'll never eat there again.)

The most delicious pita bread on the planet!.
i cannot speak on behalf of the service of Il Forno because I always order take out but everytime I pick it up the hostess is always friendly and the order is always correct. The food is absolutly delicious. My favorite is the Gorgonzola salad with balsamic and pita bread on the side!!! YUM! My stomach growls just thinking about it....I would recommend Il Forno to anyone! A quick reponse to the last review you said "the crust tasted like bread" last time I checked that is what pizza crust is...bread!
Once again I can't speak about the service but the food is delicious!

Il-Forno, Ill-fated Experience.
The food is lackluster and the service is worse. We were seated right near the takeout door, which is a stupid place for a table. The restaurant was very busy and they were grossly understaffed. We waited for a good amount of time, just for someone to give us 6th grade level printouts of the specials. The point of a special is that it is a good value - all the specials were so expensive you could have gone to boston and eaten in a 5-star restaurant for that price. We eventually ordered standard Italian fare, including a fried mozzerella appetizer. We were then left to fate for over 30 minutes with no appetizer. No one ever asked if we wanted to order any beverages (they are byob -but we might have wanted soda or something). Plastic glasses & salad plates, cheap silverware, tacky decor (including X-mas lights) and dirty carpeting were not exactly appealing. Table was sticky. After over 30 minutes, our meals came out (no appetizer or explanation of why there was no appetizer). Two different waitresses brought the food. The pizza my husband ordered was horrible. The crust was like bread, the cheese tasteless, and the toppings undercooked. It was like eating cardboard. The pasta I ordered was okay - just okay - but for the amount of time I waited I could've cooked it myself better. The portions were smaller than you'd expect for the price. The prices were affordable, but for what you're getting you could do much better elsewhere. When we approached the hostess to find out who the manager was, she indicated it was her. Then she disappeared saying she'd be right back. She then interviewed our waitress in front of us and came to the table. Upon hearing our complaint re: the appetizer, she said "we took it off the bill, is that okay?". Did not apologize or offer to compensate us with dessert or anything. What should have been a 30-45 minute meal, ended up being a 1.5 hour ordeal. Do not waste your time or money here. Truly a horrible dining experience.
