Spanish cuisine and sensibility are on display at this Mediterranean homage, where tapas, Spanish wine and more are served late.

Tasty Food at Bocado in Worcester County

by NorthShoreBoston at Citysearch

We were driving through Central Mass and stopped into Bocado one night. The food was pretty good actually, lots of stuff to choose from. Slider type things to chicken wings to hummus. Yummy. No wait. The place was pretty empty when we went in. Oh about 8:30PM. But we were glad. :)

Service was quick. Attentive wait staff. However we did find it to be quite odd at how some of the staff just stood around and stared at us eating (quite uncouth but it is Worcester county ) . It made us uncomfortable. But it did not ruin our lovely night and yes we would return. The desserts were very tasty too. The owners did a good job with this place. Recommend.

Best vibe in Worcester

by GGLC at Citysearch

Went on a Wed. night with my wife and had an amazingly positive experience. By far the best service in Worcester -knowledgeable wait staff, attentive to every detail. Lots of cool beautiful people haning out. Food was very well prepared, and a very diverse menu so even picky eaters will find something. Lots of wines to try, and they make it easy to try with many low -cost options, and sampler trays. My wife spilled a glass of wine and a new one showed up in minutes, free of charge. Little things like that make such a difference. The food was probably 3-4 stars - some dishes better than others (tortilla was OK, hummus is great) but it is the one time in the last 5 years that I felt like I was in Boston/SF/other large city and not Worcester.

Not for the sports fan - no TV's, no beer on tap (as far as I can tell). And truth be told, I'm not a fan of Tapas, but this did so well that I can't help but recommend it to anyone who complains about the Worcester Dining scene. In fact, lots of women dining there, no tables full of guys, just not that kind of scene.

Pros - class, service, food - variety and taste

Cons - can be a little crowded, you must like Spanish wine

Enchanting Experience

by sassyuwf at Citysearch

My friend and I journeyed to Bocado with hopeful expectations--simply put--they were met and exceeded. The atmosphere was lively and chic, our waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable, the sangrias (many varieties to choose from and come in pitchers!) were sensational, and the food was fantastic (from the sauteed littlenecks to the Kobe burgers). It was an enjoyable dinner experience.

  • Pros: Food, drink, service, atmosphere, complimentary valet parking
  • Cons: none

Great tapas

by deadl0k at Citysearch

Bocado is a quaint little tapas bar in central MA as good as any on Newbury St! Hot tapas were tasty, especially the kobe beef mini-burgers and the shrimp. They have excellent wine and sherry choices, and also several pre-selected flights which are great for trying out different wine pairings. It's a great place to go with a date or group of friends, as the food is affordable and fun to share. Service is fast, friendly and knowledgeable, and they easily explained their unique menu to us. Decor is well done given the warehouse-like building construction, and the seating was comfortable. The parking lot across the street was small and cramped.

We would highly recommend Bocado -- it's a rare experience in the Worcester area.

  • Pros: food, plating, variety, price
  • Cons: parking
