I do not recommend this office to people who are looking for quality, professional eye care.
After reading the reviews below, I had to wonder if they went to the same place I did. My 2 children, my husband and myself have been patients for years and have had nothing but good experiences and great care. My husband has had several surgeries performed by Dr D'Ambrosio all with excellent results. Sometimes the waiting room is pretty full but I also know they have many doctors. My family and I have never felt like we were part of a conveyor belt and we certainly have never felt pressured to do or buy anything. We have always felt like all options were explained to us so that we as patients could make an informed decision. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking quality eye care!
Conveyor belt practice/coercion.
If you enjoy feeling like a number and want to be coerced into signing a contract you don't need or want, then this is the practice for you. I was interested in getting contact lens for occasional use and was given a pair to try out in the office. I liked them, but refused to sign a contact mandating that I attend an informational class--cost $139.00 When I told the doctor I didn't need instructions (I had worn contacts for many years previously), he insisted it was out of his hands. He put the contract in front of me and told me to sign. I refused, and he got visibly angry. He made me take out the trial pair of lens and throw them in the trash!! I don't mind paying for trial lenses or even purchasing them through the doctor, but to be made to fork over $139 for an unnecessary class first is ridiculous.
I was also told to come early to fill out paper work, but the receptionist kept me waiting at the desk for a long time while she organized her files. When she finally got around to me (there was a line formed behind me at this point), I asked her if I should fill out the paperwork now. No, she said. You can do that later. Then why was I asked to come in early, I wondered?
When I went to pick out frames, the staff member told me that they didn't accept insurance and would have to pay full price. (huh?) At check out, I was required to give out health insurance information I had already provided.
This practice has all the trappings of a highly efficient industry--they certainly have enough staff in matching colorful outfits---but it is a poorly run business that does not respect the customer at any level.
Do not waste your time when there are plenty of smaller practices who, I'm sure, will welcome your business.
Q: Why ISN'T Dr. D'Ambrosio Board Certified?. A: Because he FAILED the Boards 3x and they don't allow you to take it a forth time. If you don't believe me, ask his staff and see what type of awkward answer they give you.
DAMBROSIO = DISASTER.
Congratulations D'Ambrosio Eye Care, you have provided the worst eye care service I have ever had! 2 months ago, I waited 3 hours total to finish my eye exam. Today, I heard another patient comment, "this place is a waiting game", while another patient walked out because he had waited so long.
To add to my previous narrative, D'Ambrosio Eye Care is incredibly unprofessional. Yesterday, I showed up for an appointment in Lancaster only to find out that the receptionist had scheduled it in Acton. I was not compensated for having to return the next day.
I had a contact lens exam today and I felt rushed to the point where I question whether I even have the right prescription. During my last appointment, Dr. MM rudely responded to my questions probably because she was feeling stressed with the thought of all the patients waiting outside of our door.
This place is full of nitwits and unqualified receptionists, assistants and doctors. My grandma said that one of her elderly friends walked out with one blind eye after getting treatment in Acton. This place should be avoided at all costs... if only to preserve your eyesight (the irony of it all).
They bring in more patients than they can accommodate and the service is so rushed you probably are not getting the proper care for your money. It' really sad to see so many elderly people take advantaged of. To whoever owns or manages this company, I foresee the end of your business because it's run terribly as customer service is the last priority. You are all probably making a great profit, though. On that note, F@#K YOU GUYS! I hope nobody goes here because of this review.
