after more than 20 years, I will NEVER go back. I've been going to Periwinkle's for well over 20 years. Tonight I ordered the deluxe surf and turf. The vegetables were served at a perfect temperature; the steak and shrimp were sent back once as they were cold. They returned the same way. After more than 20 years of dining there, I will never go back. Nothing was done to change the outcome such as a change in price. The repeated, heartfelt 'I'm sorry" from the waitress didn't make a difference.

I noticed there's no rating for a negative experience. Tonight didn't even rate one star. Buh bye.

STAFF DEFECIENCIES / OVER PRICED. I'll be brief, as brief as a critic can be: 7 continents, 40 countries, 187 cities visited to date and I have never found a more unexperienced staff. My waitress name was "Beth" I believe. She was on cell phone more then giving her customers attention. I found the food over priced for the decor and area. The manager on duty unfortunately looked as if she rolled out of bed and came to a part time job at Mc Donalds. A cook groped a waitress in my view by hitting her in the behind in plain view. The food was over cooked, and brought out in segments. I found not only my waitress unprofessional, and not trained to be a proper server but also observed the full staff and can make the determination there is no training for this staff which lies in blame of the management and ownership.

After my meal I wanted to observe the bar and lounge servers. I was equally disappointed. I saw drinks being over poured, under poured and wasted. I saw 1 bartender take a tip and then enter it into her pant lining. I witnessed 2 bartenders arguing. Out of the 3 bartenders 1 of the bartenders was the only one with a somewhat professional demeanor and great attitude with patrons. The other 2 were sub par and surely not professional bartenders. I would report their names as well however all 3 had no name tags.

In closing this owner needs to take control of the people he presents to his customers. His employees create the perception of the experience. We see this all to often. The menu needs to be shortened and prices decreased to fall in line with the decor and area. The staff needs training from the managers down. The bar needs personality and presence, a touch of elegancy and class within the bar staff.

I will revisit in August -

Bustling and big. This restaurant on Route 12 North heading into Worcester, is very big and very busy. It has full bar service as well as an extensive menu. In my dining experience, I found that it was a little too busy, personally, and in the section I was in, there were way too many loud children running around. The food was good, though overpriced, and the wait service was exasperating. I waited for a second drink for a very long while, and the taste was somehow gritty for iced tea. In addition, the waitress seemed to be paying attention to only one table at a time, neglecting others while she took care of the other.
