The Lowdown
No surprise, Ski Ward's biggest draw is its ski school. With 120 instructors, the school enrolls between 2,000 to 2,500 skiers each week, mostly children. While it lacks the challenging trails that Wachusett offers skiers, that's to be expected with a vertical drop one-fifth the length of its central Massachusetts big brother. There is night skiing and all of the terrain is covered by snow-making
Tubing Hill
Another popular draw here is tubing. Because the tubing area regularly sold out on weekends in recent years, Ski Ward has added a lift to better accommodate the growing legions of young tubers. A 350-foot half-pipe and a grooming machine have also been put in.

Pros: open until 9pm, not so crowded Cons: the rental snowboarding equipment is the worst I've ever seen. The stuff has no idea how to tune or fix it. Otherwise - this is just yet another neighbourhood ski@snowboard hill

Ski Ward is a nightmare for lessons. We had the worst experience. The lesson is for 1 hour and it will cost you $35 for lesson, $30 Ski rental. They gave the worst skis and they always pop out and they tried to fix them for 20 min and remaining 40 minutes 1 instructor showed the four kids how to walk for green light, red light. The kids used the skis to walk two steps and they hardly practiced any. Our back yards are better place to train our kids.

Ski Ward has dramatically changed for the worse this year. Instead of being the laid back ski school it was last year, this year it has become a nightmare: where kids are turned away from lessons if you don't show up on time, where the program director screams at parents for their kids ruining the other kids experience in front of the children for being late, and just in general being an up-tight, awful experience. I'll be sending my daughter somewhere else for lessons next year. I've discovered that my backyard is about the same quality of snow and terrain... Never again...
