Tips for Metro Crime Prevention

Not worth it to work here in my opinion. For carrying a gun, OC spray, handcuffs, baton, and whatever else you carry, there is no official training for the use of any of these. Proper training is required and you receive none, so whoever said that the security officers are trained was lying. Defense training on certain sites should be required, as you are working with homeless, mentally ill, drug addicts and other unstable people. Some people have academy training and degrees in criminal justice but get the same pay as everyone else. All the boss is concerned with is your appearance. You will work with people who think they are actual police because they carry a badge. A few people who work/ed here got in trouble for impersonating. The Captain is not confrontational when it comes to serious matters, he laid 2 people off with a letter attached to their paychecks and if you address a concern to him over the phone, he responds with a letter attached to everyone's paycheck instead of just talking to that person about it. It would probably be worth working here if we started off with $15 an hour but it isn't. The uniforms look almost identical to a state troopers uniform. Some of the people he hires is questionable, seems as though if you have a Massachusetts LTC he will hire you no matter what physical/mental condition you are in. A few other people who work here have been arrested in the past and hired back. Dont expect to get a raise, sick time, holiday pay (besides christmas, new years and thanksgiving), 401k or any other benefits while working here. There are people who have worked here for 10+ years with only 1 week vacation. When asked for a raise, he constantly says there is no extra money in the funds.

All in all, if the person running the company had a logical head on his shoulders, it would have the potential to be a great company.

SQUARED AWAY COMAPNY. I HAVE PERSONALLY KNOWN THE OWNER OF THIS COMPANY,AND MANY OF THE OFFICERS FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS.THE OWNER IS A FORMER POLICE OFFICER,AND IS VERY PROFESSIONAL.HIS OFFICERS ARE SQUARED AWAY.THEY ARE A CARING AND PROFESSIONAL GROUP OF OFFICERS;TRAINED,LICENESED TO CARRY FIREARMS,AND LOOK VERY SHARP IN THEIR UNIFORMS.THE OWNER WOULD NOT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY.MANY OF THEM HAVE BEEN IN THIS PROFESSION FOR YEARS, AND ARE SEASONED OFFICERS.GIVING THEM THE ABILITY TO APPLY DISCERNMENT AT THE WORKSITES, IN ENFORCING THE APPLICABLE LAWS AND RULES ,WHILE PROTECTING THE PEOPLE AND PREMISES FOR WHICH THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR. THAY HAVE A GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE POLICE AGENCIES. IT APPEARS THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS HAVE BEEN FROM FORMER EMPLOYEES,WHO "JUST DIDN'T GET IT",AND WERE TERMINATED.IN THIS DAY AND AGE,WHEN YOU WEAR A BADGE,AND CARRY A GUN YOU ARE EXPECTED TO CONDUCT YOURSELF IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER,REGARDLESS OF WHAT AGENCY YOU WORK FOR.....PERIOD!.A FEW OF THE OFFICERS ARE RETIRED COPS,OTHERS HAVE POLICE ACADEMY TRAINING. WITHOUT A DOUBT;METRO RANKS FAR ABOVE ALL OTHER SECURITY COMPANIES IN THE WORCESTER COUNTY REGION.

Allll wrong. When I worked there, I asked about getting promoted to sargeant.....because I have law enforcement expierience with sherriffs dept.as well as a few other things, and I was laughed at. Now they have this woman with ABSOLUTELY NO security expierience as a seargent. How does that make sense. I'd stay away from this company at all costs.

Incorrect information. A few former employees on here would have you believe that Metro Crime Prevention and Investigations is a bad company.

Unfortunately every company has a few bad seeds that are unable to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by thier commanding officers. As a whole Metro CP&I is a very reliable and experienced company. Metro has employed former law enforcement officers as well as men and women who have moved on to become current law enforcement officers. MCP has diligently worked all of thier accounts and have held onto the accounts they have over many years with alot of attempts from other security companies to undercut them.

If MCP was such a terrible company would accounts as prestigious as Worcester Academy hold onto them after several other "well established" security companies have tried to undercut them on price? Even in this tough economy the accounts and organizations that hire MCP know that having a well working security company like MCP is more of an asset than having a cheaper less organized company come in and do a bad job.

Overall this is a very good company, I would recommend them over Securitas, Locktite, J.S. Protective services, or any other fly by night security company that loosk to make a quick dollar with undertrained and inexperienced officers.

If you want security you can trust go with Metro Crime Prevention & Investigations

BAD BAD BAD. Your right. i worked for them too and the owner DOES NOT care about what happens on his sites just as long as uniforms are in order. Owner ACTUALLY got in trouble for inpersonating a police officer, so that will tell you what kind of place this is. This place has awsome potential to be a great company with all its resources but its just too bad the owner is the way he is........

Worst security company EVER.. I give this company 0 stars. This company is a hack-job security company. They are an armed security company, working at schools and rehab clinics and they have a convicted felon working with them, as a sergeant no less! The owner doesnt care what kind of a job gets done at his contracted sites, as long as your wearing a tie while you do it. I WOULD NOT trust this company to guard my TRASH, nevermind something i felt seriously needed protecting.
