Negligent

My recent experience with Nick Bello was very disappointing. A reviewer mentioned his proficiency in "fitting" glasses: apparently that is what his license or degree is in, because he seems not to know a thing about lenses. Not only were the frames I chose for progressive bifocal lenses not large enough to accommodate them (THEY were supposed to know this, not the customer), the peripheral 'vision' was blurry and of course shouldn't have been. I've been in touch with the appropriate authorities in an attempt to get a refund.

I went there a few months ago- i really liked the optometrist Dr. G- he was great and knowledgable. I can't say the same about the staff or the owner. They were rude and the place had a wierd smell like moldy

Meticulous Craftsmanship, Perfectly Comfortable Fit

My wife has been going to Nick for over 20 years and when we got married, she turned me on to the BEST optician I've ever dealt with. His forte is fit, you wear your glasses all the time, they must be comfortable and effective; no one is better at this than Nick. We walk in any time and he happily cleans and adjusts our glasses, his service is unparalleled. He's also got a great eye for style, it's come to the point were we just say, "what should we get?" and he helps select frames that look good on our faces and are within our budget. He's flexible. I brought in a pair of sunglasses that I bought in Italy and he made lenses for them with my new prescription. My wife wears one contact lens, he made a pair of glasses with only one correcting lens that she can wear for driving.

Bello Opticians is one of the best service companies we deal with. We like our plumber, we like our realtor, we like our mechanic, but we love Nick.

• Pros: Excellent, friendly service. Family business.
• Cons: It gets busy. Sometimes we have to wait. It's worth it.
