Hard to get a table @ weekends, good plan B's on shrewsbury street just in case
BEST IN THE BUSINESS.
The "Chop House" in Worcester will be one of my more memorable dinning experiences. Our Servers Ben & Bret know what it is to give service at a fine dinning establishment. The Firecracker Sushi roll was top notch, Mushroom fritter was good but could still have used something to highlight it wasn't a champ but still good. My wife had the Serf & Turf Fillet mignon was cooked perfect shrimp was very tasteful.
I had the aged sirloin very tender cooked to perfection very well seasoned. I ordered a side of red bliss which was not at all good and steamed asparagus with hollandaise both disappointing but still eatable.
last Ben & Bret brought over a scoop of ice cream and a sugar cookies with a lighted candle for my wifes birthday. This was not asked for and took me by surprise. I had asked via reservation about a B-day cake red velvet was told they had none. I had totally forgotten about it.
Great attention to detail this is why they get 5 stars
Excellent Affordable Steakhouse and Seafood Too !!.
VERY NICE. I would not call this restaurant "upscale" or high-end BUT it is certainly above average. We loved it. The food is perfect. The fish is cooked perfectly ! The steak is just how you order it. Sides and sauces are superb.
It is a tad noisy but we expected that. Parking was good. Service excellent. I know the owners also own The Sole P and we did get undercooked fish there ONCE , but all in all this steakhouse is excellent.
We have been to steakhouses in Boston and NYC too, and this one is CHEAP compared, YET the food is great ! We would recommend to all of our friends.
Definitely the best restaurant in Worcester.
The title of this post says it all. I own my own business, and I have travelled throughout the world. I've eaten in the finest restaurants in other major cities such as New York, San Fran, Paris, and Rome. 111 Chop House doesn't have to take a back seat to anybody.
Food is very well prepared and steak is always cooked to order. There is a good variety of fish, seafood, steak and chicken dishes. The appetizers and salads are also excellent. Desserts are a pleasure to enjoy.
Service is also top notch for Worcester. Wait staff is courteous, fast, and on top of everything.
Since moving to the central MA area, my wife and I eat her at least once a month. We also have an 18 month old that we bring regularly. The atmosphere is conducive to a nice dinner for two, or with the family.
I've heard complaints about price, but this place is a bargain for the food and service quality vs. any of its "big city" competition.
Greatest New Year's Ever.
My husband and I have gone several times, but we wondered how the service would be on New Year's eve with 5 friends from Philly. They did not disappoint. Although we had to wait 15 minutes even WITH a reservation (Frankly 111 if you're listening- this is absolutely obnoxious and you need to hire a hostess who is way less snooty than the one you had working New Year's this year - being good doesn't entitle you to be snobby).
However, the food is always phenomenal - and i've ordered so many things off the menu - and while the two waiters rarely touch base with each other, you're never wanting for anything. Excellent waitstaff recommended delicious wines and champagne and listened to what we were looking for in a bottle. It is well worth the high price we paid for an incredible dinner.
I do have to say though that it does get loud - so if you want to be more romantic ask to be seated near the windows where the din is much lower. I can't tell you how impressed my Philly friends were!
Great experience. We just walked in without reservations and we got seated promptly; regardless I believe we were just lucky as 10 minutes later the place was packed on Sunday evening. The menu has something for all tastes and the salads are more interesting than just ?house salad?. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked, the portions are generous, but not overwhelmingly large. Good Martinis too. This steak house should be visited more often.
A New York-style steakhouse in Worcester!. You don't have to go to New York to get great steak. 111 Chophouse offers expertly prepared prime steak in a restaurant with a romantic atmosphere and a superb, award-winning wine list.
I don't see what all the hype is about. I'd heard such good things about this place...but I was sorely disappointed. It was exceedingly crowded and noisy. And our waiter rushed us through dinner like you wouldn't believe. I'd had the dessert menu for 30 seconds when he came back. When I told him I hadn't decided yet, he rolled his eyes at me...and he wasn't joking around. Plus that tag-team waiter thing they do is annoying. The 2 of them obviously never spoke to each other and I ended up repeating my order at every step. The food was good but not good enough to EVER suffer through THAT again.
User review by wcporctor52. The cowboy steak is the best.It is a large peice of meat and cooked the way you want it.
card carrying carnivores unite. My husband and I have never been disappointed while at 111 Chophouse. I order petite filet mignon butterflied med.well and they do it perfectly every time. I have ordered this in other restaurants and usually get charcoal or they are too afraid and I get it too rare. They have crisp salads and the broccoli with hollandaise is to die for. Don't know about the desserts because I have never had the room.
