A Harvard Sq. must!.
John Harvards is wonderful! (it was a daily lunch spot and at least 2 dinners a week as a local resident). I had my rehersal dinner and the staff was overwhelmingly warm! The meals were all fresh and came out at the same time (18 plates). I am disapointed that they no longer have the queso dip on the menu as it was my favorite! The monthly brew dinners are wonderful with plenty of food on a prefix menu! YOU MUST check it out!!! Sitting at the bar is always fun and John Harvards does very well with large parties.

Disappointing.
My first trip to John Harvard's was also my last. I went with friends and all three of us left hungry. A spinich-artichoke dip appitizer was very oily. The hamburger was not cooked to specifications. Ravioli was served with a salad ON TOP of it (lettuce and tomato sauce was not a good combo) and a greek salad was served on top of a plop of hummus (again, not very tasty). The beer was stale-tasting, and the waitstaff couldn't even tell us what kind it was. We spoke to the manager, who seemed unconcerned with our disappointing experience and did not offer to take anything off the bill. I suppose I shouldn't have expected much in the first place.
