PREDICTION: OUT OF BUSINESS.

by CHRISTIAN2

1) Seated for 10 minutes on a slow night before our waitress even noticed us.

2) When you order a soda at a restaurant with prices as steep as Roma's, you'd expect more than TWO CANS plopped into your lap. Classy!

3) Appetizer (calamari) was tiny, terribly oily and absolutely flavorless. Served on a wilted lettuce leaf. This was touted as "the best starter" by our waitress.

4) Rigatoni with red sauce was overcooked pasta with pizza sauce and one mushy, pre-frozen meatball. Tasted exactly like Chef Boyardee, and all for a mere 16.50 more!

5) Pasta primavera was a soupy, oily concoction of pizza toppings tossed with linguine. Canned mushrooms, soggy peppers etc. My wife ate three bites and left the rest.

6) Waitress seemed insulted that we hadn't eaten and had no desire to take the rest home. Maybe she hasn't tried the food...

7) Had no change for a twenty. No tens, no fives, no ones. We weren't sure if this was a ploy to score a 20$ dollar tip. I'd sooner burn a 20 dollar bill.

8) It's BYOB. We were unaware, but kindly notified by our server that we could navigate through a couple of alleyways (it's nighttime, mind you) to a liquor store a block or two away if we wanted to get some. Ok, sure. BYOPS- BRING YOUR OWN PEPPER SPRAY.

9) Worst restaurant I've ever patronized. Don't waste your time or hard-earned money. I've never been so passionate as to take time and write a review, but this restaurant inspired me. HORRIBLE.

How do restaurants with terrible service survive in this day

by davemacp

The pizza was good. The service was awful. I don't understand how a place in this economy can survive where they treat their customers so horribly. Can someone explain that to me. If it was the best food in the world, maybe poor service could be excused, but Roma's certainly is not that.

Will never return

by Swinn

My family and I decided to try out Roma's on a Friday night for my brother's birthday. We had reservations for 730, we were running a little late, my mother called the restaurant to let them know. We showed up, brought our own alcohol since the play is BYOB. We received wine glasses, water, ect. Waitress came over, told us the specials and everything. We placed our order, and we ordered the Pu Pu platter to share at the table. A half hour later we are still waiting for our appetizer while being completely ignored by our waitress, we had to flag her down ask her where our appetizer was and if we could have some bread or something. We are all starving at this point. Finally the appetizer comes, which we actually all enjoyed, but was not a lot of food. We ate that then proceeded to continue to wait another 40-45 minutes for our food. People around us had come in at least a half hour after us and had gotten their food, while all 6 of us had not gotten anything. Finally we flagged the waitress down for the second time asking what the hold up was, she said it should be right out. Another 10 minutes goes by and we are completely ignored by our waitress who is kneeling beside the table chatting with the family behind us instead of checking on our food. The manager walked around to every table in there but ours, until we had to flag down the manager because we were so rudely ignored by everyone in that place. He then goes to check on our food. The hostess comes over to us to try to make things better. Who in turn just made them worse. Telling us there was a back up of pizza orders, ect. My sister ordered a pizza the table that came in behind us ordered a pizza and had their pizza already. When my father tried to speak she cut him off, all she did was add gas to a fire. Calling a mess up in the kitchen. No one ever told us what the hold up was on our food. She begged us not the walk out because they don't want us to have a bad experience. Again we got there at 730 and it was well beyond 9 o'clock at this point. We had enough and asked for our bill for out appetizer, which we did not have to pay for. We walked out starving after over an hour and a half in that restaurant, and as we walk out the hostess tries to give my father a gift certificate. Funny, that she would even think we would step foot in that place ever again. To sum it up, rude, terrible service and never going back again. Nice family dinner to celebrate a birthday ruined. We had to order pizza on our way home instead.
