Best Salon in Worcester!. After going to many salon's where ive gotten a horrible hair cut I decided to go to Tu Moda. I had been there before for a facial and it was amazing. My stylist Gloria does exactly what I ask for, and gives her opinion when asked. The atmosphere in this salon and spa is beautiful and I am instantly relaxed when I walk in. I highly recommend trying the aveda tea. I will never go elsewhere for a haircut!

Horrible Service! Tu Moda needs a make-over. I visited Tu Moda the day of a big event, hoping for a shiny, color touch-up, cut, color and style as well as a set of acrylic nails.

The stylist who did my hair was so sweet, but pleasantries aside, I specifically asked for a rich brown shiny color boost, but nothing too dark! Halfway through my color she told me they didn't have me down for a blow-dry (who leaves the salon with wet hair???) which I specifically booked in advance. She said that someone else would finish my cut and style. I asked if they could fit me in for a set of acrylic nails since the salon was practically empty, she said it wouldn't be a problem.

With wet hair, I'm ushered to the nail section where an Asian lady is exasperated over my request for acrylics. I politely told her if she didn't have time, we could book an appointment on another day, she assured me she had time. She proceeded to work at a lightening speed, the most uncomfortable, rushed manicure, more than once she tapped my hand and said "RELAX" she continued to push my cuticles down so fiercely I was wincing in pain more than once. She just said "ah sorry" and kept going.

As her next client came in, she rushed me to wash my hands and began to cordially meet and greet her next client, No top coat for me, no buffing, NOTHING!!! My nails were so dull and lackluster, I was shocked!! Furthermore, I was surprised that she could speak English so well to the next client, as she only used single-word phrases to order me around.

Finally, and this gets worse, if you could imagine! I'm ushered to wash my hair, and the stylist washes it twice, which is a bad sign. My hair is about two shades away from being black!!!

I'm then sent over to Paul, to cut and style my hair, since the first stylist didn't have time in her schedule to blow-dry or style.

Paul proceeds to cut my hair, and while doing so, pretends to spit on a coworker. Lovely. I know.

I tell him I want my hair straightened, with the ends curled out. He then pulls out a tiny, bristled round-brush to blow out my hair? Did I mention I have THICK, LONG hair? It is the most painful experience to endure. It takes him over an hour and by the end, I'm dying to leave this salon. He doesn't even straighten my hair properly, it's still wavy and then he takes a small straighter and gives me these funky, trailer-trash boxy "curls" I don't even know what you call it, I'm like WTF!!! I have black, kinky hair.

It was so bad, that even the stylist who colored my hair came over and said "don't worry, it will wash out and the color will lighten up after a few washes" which it hasn't. And then she turned to Paul and said "you know she wants it straight, right?"

Long story short, I leave the salon as I have a million errands to run, I get in my car and notice in the natural light that my forehead, scalp, ears and neck are completely dyed brown. I was so upset at this point, I called to speak with a manager. She was pretty friendly, and apologized for the poor service. She told me the owner was going to call me back.

It's been one month and the owner hasn't bothered to return my call. I'm pretty disgusted with the way I was treated, the unprofessional service I received and the lack of common courtesy on behalf of the owner.

Although, you can't expect the staff to act like professionals when the owner is just as bad, it sets a pretty rotten precedent.

I will most certainly never go back, I will make a point of telling all my friends and family that Tu Moda is a total joke!!!! They've tried to create this high-end reputable image as a luxury spa in Worcester, but the truth is, I probably would have received better service at a Supercuts in the ghetto of Main South.

Tu Moda you get one star for the decor.

HIDDEN GEM IN WORCESTER!. My partner recently moved to worcester from Martha's Vineyard and needed a cut and color before starting a new job. I was pretty nervous finding a new salon ans stylist for such someone used to such pampered and personalized service that the Island offers a client. Through my research I found Tu Moda and decided to give them a shot. WOW, I immediately had to remind myself I was still in Worcester and not on vacation. What a great atmosphere and unbeliveably attentive staff! Amy was great! She listened to my partners requests, wasn't afraid to make suggestions and made a game plan on what to do until his desired style could be obtained. I can't belive I'm just now finding this Gem of a spa after 3 1/2 years here in Worcester. I've already booked us in for a full day of spa treatments! Do yourself a favor and go in for a tour of the spa and salon. Their prices are very reasonable and most certainly better then Boston and you don't have to pay for the tolls or parking!

The most unprofessional salon I have ever experienced.. I was a second time client at this salon and had after having several spa services went upstairs to have my hair colored. At the end the stylist said the left side of my hair didnt take the color ; it must be that I had used a drugstore product. I politely informed her I did not and never had. She then exclaimed she forgot to color it! It was the end of the day , so I was booked to return the next morning; which was the same day I was leaving for vacation! In a rush to get to the airport I was mortified when I went to check out they wanted to charge me for having it dried! After their mistake! I requested a manager and was told no one was around and the owner was busy. Then I thought at least I would be contacted.I was new to this area and very taken back. I use salons on a regular basis , utilizing many services. This is one business I wont frequent again.
