STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY

by jr567 at Citysearch

DO NOT GO TO AUTOMAX PREOWNED!!!! I got the worst customer service treatment from the employees of this company, the car they tried to sell me was an overpriced piece of junk. There was one degenerate chose to make insulting remarks about my nationality, rather than conduct business! He then later informed me that a credit check would take SIX HOURS TO COME BACK!!!! REALLY!!! When i insisted we got it back in less than 30 minutes. Very suspicious. What threw me over the edge was when I tried to negotiate with him, he was rude enough to suggest I should "simply go elsewhere". Yeah I went elsewhere alright.

These guys are dissolute pricks! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! they don't even deserve the 1 star I gave them,

  • Pros: YOU CAN ALWAYS WALK AWAY, there are better delaerships.
  • Cons: that you wasted time even considering them

Buyer Beware!!!

by ames130 at Citysearch

BUY ELSEWHERE....I do NOT reccomend this dealership. Just because they're used carsmen...doesn't mean they need to ACT like the stereotypical used carsmen. Once they get you to sign on the line they drop all pretenses of good customer service. They are also keen to ignore state laws and rules...BUYER BEWARE.

Terrible Sevice

by JPM1 at Citysearch

Went in today to look at a Mercedes, was told that the salesmen were "too busy." Could not even get a price list or warrenty information. Asked if I could take a test drive, was told more or less - "come back another day." No thanks! I thought buying a car now, in this economy, would be a breeze?

  • Pros: Nice cars, apparently not for sale
  • Cons: No Service!

They are liars and cheats

by JACJAC at Citysearch

Scam is not too harsh a word for what these guys do to you. They lie and tell you anything to get you to buy a car. They told me that they had done all sorts of work on the car to get it ready for me--brakes fixed, the engine repaired, etc. I've now owned the car for a few months and have been told by a mechanic that none of that was done. In addition, they damaged the body (minor dings and scratches) between the time I bought the car and when it was delivered. As each new thing came to light I said to myself, "This isn't worth fighting over." Now a few months later, with the problems revealing themselves, I realize that I should not have bought the car from these lying jerks. STAY AWAY!!!!

ALSO, please take a look at the reviews. Most are either really good or really bad. The really bad ones describe, in detail, their experiences. The really good ones are brief and come in clusters (in bunches around the same date). The good reviews look like fakes.

If I had seen these reviews before I went to AutoMax I never would have purchased a car there.

BEWARE!!!

Worst Dealership

by Rosscool5 at Citysearch

I came in to see a Audi A6 that I was ready to buy and the guy was really rude to me. He knew I would buy that car that day if I liked it. He was extremely rude to me and talked to me as if I was 5. He was the manager or assistant manager!!! Then we tried to give an offer that was 1,500 less than what it cost, and he pointed to a sign that said no offers. The car is $36,000!!!! Worst Dealership I have ever gone. Go to Westwood auto mall, I bought my car there and it was a great experience. Great staff and great prices

  • Pros: Low Price
  • Cons: No bartering, rude, not helpful at all

These People LIE!!!

by figaro at Citysearch

My husband and I put a deposit on an MDX. After waiting 3 1/2 weeks for a title to come in, we went to pick up the car. Thank God we looked at it before signing the papers. There were huge scratches on the windshield, the side had been sideswiped, there were more chips in the paint than I could count and one alloy wheel had scratches and chips on it. The loose door and mirror had also not been fixed as requested. The salesman tried to tell us that this was the condition of the car when we saw it. (He forgot that he inspected the car before and after we test drove it to make sure no scratches or dents where on the vehicle.) He tried to say the the scratches on the windshield were from windshield wipers, however they ran vertical from top to bottom - not horizontal. The salesman got extremely defensive when we asked what happened. He stated "you are not buying a new car". We said that was correct but we wanted the car we put the deposit on. The manager said (after much discussion) that the paint, loose door and mirror would be fixed but he was unwilling to fix the windshield. He told us to claim it under our insurance. When we told him that the car was in his possession when this happened and he said "it won't cost you anything, just claim it on your insurance." Since we did not want to commit fraud, we declined the vehicle.

Thieves the moment you pull up to the dealership

by Wholemilk at Citysearch

I brought my printed out ad from them stating a car they had was being sold for 20,999 when I got there they said it is selling for 23,000 and nothing less. The car had more problems than a car that has been turned into a cube. They would not acknowledge the problems and still wanted top dollar for a broken car. The salesman wouldn't budge a cent from the 23,000 dollar price he gave me and he wanted to give me next to nothing for my trade in. AVOID THIS DEALER AT ALL COSTS they lie about their ad so they can get you in then they throw you with a higher price tag.

  • Pros: Nice cars on the lot
  • Cons: EVERYTHING

Automax was so friendly, helpful, and patient. Great selection, Prices, Service.

by jeff991 at Citysearch

I am a local customer who went to Automax to buy 2008 Audi A6 that I saw advertised in the newspaper. Upon arrival at the Route (9) dealership I saw so many nice cars and really got confused. My salesman Randy test drove about eight cars with me before I fell in love with the Mercedes. Randy was so friendly, helpful, and patient he went over every car with me in detail, showed me each car's service history and introduced me to the service manager at the dealership. I was really impressed with the service facilities at Automax, as it was packed with customers getting state inspections and so forth. I purchased a 2006 Mercedes E350 and I am happy with the decision. I have been driving the car for three months now and everything has been smooth. I have shopped many new and used car dealers in the Boston area and not one of them showed me the kind of respect, patience, courtesy and pricing Randy did at Automax. I have since referred several friends who have all bought cars from Automax and are very satisfied as well.

Randy,

Hope to see you at Pop Warner,

Jeff

Thank you again for all your help with the purchase.

by liz34 at Citysearch

Paul,

I just want to thank you again for all your help with the purchase of my 2007 Toyota Corolla through Automax. It was a positive experience throughout the process.. Paul, the sales rep who I worked with, was professional, courteous and knowledgable. No hard sell, no pressure, "you need to buy today..." speeches, and other negatives usually attributed to the car-buying experience. Just professional follow-up, honest negotiating and a very fair price. The service follow up were prompt and prffessional. Everyone was courteous and their experience and professionalism shined through., I would definitely buy from Automax Preowned again and highly recommend this dealer for Sales and Service. Thanks again Liz.

  • Pros: Professional, curtious, selection, location, price.
  • Cons: Short hours on the weekend
